Devlog-7: Visual Polish, Crafting Fixes, and a Tastier Community Hub
February 10, 2026 / Orion's Gate Team
Better composition, smoother crafting, livelier social space, and relentless bug-hunting.

1) Art Upgrade Pass: Stronger Composition, Clearer Readability
We ran a focused art pass to improve composition and visual hierarchy across key scenes. Expect tighter focal points, cleaner silhouette reads, and more consistent lighting so paths, and interactables pop at a glance. This effort should reduce visual noise and make moment-to-moment decisions snappier.
2) Gameplay Updates: Crafting Stations & Collecting Flow
We shipped a round of updates and bugfixes for crafting:
Station interactions: More reliable “use” prompts, clearer state transitions (Idle → Crafting → Collect).
Recipe clarity: Ingredient requirements surfaced earlier; added error states with helpful hints.
Collecting improvements: Reduced misclicks, streamlined confirmation steps, and fixed edge cases where items didn't land in inventory under latency.
Telemetry hooks: We're tracking abandon points to keep trimming friction.
3) Community Space Gets Interactive: The Intergalactic Döner House
Our community hub now features an interactive UI layer inside the Intergalactic Döner House-a playful, utility-packed spot to meet, emote, and queue for side activities.
Contextual actions: Seat prompts, emote wheels, and situational callouts (e.g., “Party forming here”).
Social signals: Presence indicators and lightweight notifications keep the vibe alive without spamming.
Performance first: We kept the widget minimal and batched to preserve frame-time budgets in crowds.
4) Continuous Bug Search: Fix Fast, Regress Never
We're running a continuous bug-hunt alongside feature work:
Daily triage with “must-fix before merge” rules for stability issues.
Crash/soft-lock sweeps around crafting and hub transitions.
Proactive profiling in high-traffic spaces (the hub and Döner House) to catch hitches early.
